My trip to the Las Vegas World Furniture Market revealed a returning look at the Paris Flea Market look.Much attention was given to worn woods with a drift wood effect.This combined with natural linen with perhaps printed graphics created a casual charming look into a life style of subtle elegance.If natural linen is applied to a Bergere Chair of natural wood with a couple of down filled sloppy throw pillows, then you have the look!

In my 25 years as an Interior Designer, it never ceases to amaze me the amount of technology put into producing inferior quality upholstery products. Think of it this way…remember, years ago, a sofa would have to be reupholstered because the fabric would wear out and give way. Today, the construction of the sofa wears out long before the fabric wears out. Is fabric quality improving? Yes spring has arrived in more ways than one.The new trends discovered at the furniture show in Las Vegas showed an introduction to spring colors of the past.Remember the 80’s and pastels?Well they are back.Like the song says, “everything old is new again.”Do realize however that when we revisit design concept from the past it is always reconfigured in an entirely different way.
