With spring brings the idea of freshening up our spaces with paint. Here are a few simple hints. When choosing blues or greens, always err to the gray, in other words, always go grayer than you think the color should be. You see, the little chips of color will amplify to a more intense color when applied to all your walls. When painting yellow, red or coral, always err to the brown, or go browner than that which you are comfortable. If these tips are not used, you run the risk of your space looking like a baby’s room. I am sure you have been surprised in the past as to how bright the colors really are when applied. Paint correctly the first time is so much easier when using this simple rule of thumb.
When using neutrals such as whites and beiges, ask the paint store what the base color of the paint is. That base color be it green, blue, red or yellow will determine the cast that is carried when painted throughout your walls.
Think in terms of fashions. You may enjoy a bold scarf or neck tie, but the concept of applying this bold pattern and color in a suit of clothes probably is too much. The good sense that you use in your fashion usually translates to design in your home.
HAPPY PAINTING!!!
